Max Sand (*1987, Kassel) is a German photographer known for capturing the humor and absurdity of everyday life. A graduate of the Hochschule Kassel, his standout project VIVA WILLINGEN documents Schlager-fueled revelry in a small German town, blending sharp observation with gentle satire.
Sand’s work often explores themes of ritual, tourism, and excess, as seen in his 2022 solo exhibition Euer Urlaub ist mein Rausch in Nürnberg. With a playful, documentary style, he highlights overlooked moments—from patched-up bus stops to stylish seniors in waiting rooms—offering both cultural critique and comic relief.
