Jan Khür (1989), born in the Czech Republic, is a photographer based in Oslo, Norway, since 2010. He has a BA in Photography at Tomas Bata University in Zlin (CZ), complemented by a year of exchange studies in Volda (NO) focusing on editorial design and journalistic photography. During Master's degree studies he was doing an internship in Norway as photo assistant and printer in a darkroom. Additionally, he spent a year studying photography at The Indonesian Institute of Arts in Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia.
Jan works with both artistic projects revolving around personal diaries and social documentaries. Jan loves publishing zines or photo books or making darkroom colour prints. He also works with editorial (Zeit, Friends of Friends, The Wire, The World of Interiors…) and commercial photography.
In 2013He started the platform 'Norwegian Photography Now' with the aim of promoting Norwegian photography in both Norway and abroad. In 2022, he was one of two curators of the Oslo Fotobokfestival focusing on showcasing photo books from around the world. He is currently working on initiating a podcast series about Norwegian Photography together with Nearest Truth podcast platform.
